September 16th 2011, Batman Live, Nottingham Arena
It was indeed a dark night in Gotham, but this was Gotham City not Gotham in Nottingham and this Dark Knight had nothing to do with winter coming along.
Batman Live tells the story of how Dick Grayson went from circus performer to Robin the Boy Wonder.
But before that we got to see Bruce Wayne's parents gunned down, something that caused Wayne to dedicate his life to fighting crime.
Years later, the circus is in town. Its top act is the Flying Grayson's and its Mummy and Daddy Grayson that come down to earth with a bit of a splat thanks to some of Gotham City's low life.
Taken in by Bruce Wayne, Dick is initially unaware of Wayne's alter ego as Batman protects GC from various super criminals.
But, desperate for revenge Grayson discovers the identity of those behind the death of his parents, and promptly gets captured by them and their leader the Joker.
Batman comes to Grayson's rescue but Joker gets away, leaving his side-kick Harlequin behind to take the wrap.
Wayne confesses to Grayson that he is Batman, showing him the Batcave to prove it. When Batman rushes off to help Commissioner Gordon capture the Joker, Grayson wants to follow but Wayne wont let him.
Alfred however had other ideas and had been pretty busy with the sowing machine, giving Grayson his own super hero suit.
Having found Jokers lair Batman finds himself overpowered and captured by quite a collection of super villains.
Batman escapes thanks to the timely intervention of Robin and Catwoman deciding she loved Batman too much to see him killed.
Most of the super villains get rounded up but Joker tries to escape in his Balloon. Harlequin, left behind once again, blew up Jokers balloon with one monster gun allowing Batman to capture him.
Batman Live, mighty impressive!
