After a little over 3 months our utility room is now complete and we all agree it was worth it.  Apart from the obvious addition of the extra space the utility room has really opened up the house.

Access to the garage is much easier now as you can get straight to it rather than having to trudge out the kitchen and all the way round the conservatory (never fun when it was raining!).

Though that prompted a rethink on garage security.  Before we relied on just the garage door lock, but now access to the garage also gives access to the house. 

So some hefty padlocks were fitted on both sides of the garage door to back up the very hefty locks and bolts already fitted to internal door between the two.

The granite worktop, matching that in our kitchen, was installed along with a nice round sink and fancy mixer tap.

Then the Karndean flooring, again matching that in the kitchen, was fitted before the washing machine and the tumble dryer were moved out from the kitchen into their new homes.
