December 31st 2009, The Kings House, Wem
The celebrations for New Year took a distinctly Mexican theme this year.
With the conservatory decked out Mexican stylee, complete with cacti, guitar playing Hombres and chillies we donned our Mexican Outfits.
Admittedly this generally involved painting on gringo moustaches donning Sombreros and the occasional wig.
Though others went a bit further!
The usual traditions were duly honoured.
As always we had plenty of appropriately themed food, including a cake made entirely of sweets, washed down with a Tequila Slammer or two.
Dancing also featured heavily.
SingStar was rolled out with the singing quality starting off pretty poor and, to be honest, staying there.
With Big Ben ringing in 2010 we performed our Annual mumbling of the words to Auld Lang Syne.
Then a firework spectacular was unleashed!
No lanterns were launched this year through general fear of them (and Pam)
Happy New Year!
