August 24th 2009, Oakwood Theme Park, Pembrokeshire
On a beautiful day we headed to Oakwood Theme Park a great little theme park in Pembrokeshire.
The main attractions included a huge wooden roller coaster called Megafobia, once voted the best ride in the UK.
Speed was a 2000ft long metal roller coaster which at one point goes up vertically before coming back down in much the same manner at 60mph.
By far the best attraction on the park was Hyrdro. A monster log flume ride that sits you 4 abreast in a boat that goes 100ft up in the air before coming back down the flume at very nearly 90mph. Though the ride itself wasn't the best part. That honour went to a little white wooden bridge.
More accurately it went to a little white wooden bride and the massive amount of spray that Hydro sent up into the air as it hit the water. If you happened to be watching Hydro from the bridge you were going to get soaked, and as the bridge was the only way to get to the entrance of said ride people did, often. Brilliant!
If you happen to be in South Wales then we highly recommended coming to Oakwood. The rides are pretty good, its not that expensive (Not like Alton Towers) to get in and they just happen to do a very nice chicken curry.
