Ridiculous! Is the only word for it.
Two quotes from two different Bathroom places both at over £9000! All to replace our bathroom suite and redecorate a room that’s 2mtrs by 2mtrs in size!
To make it worse, one company gave us no say in what bath, toilet etc we could have. Instead picking what they considered best for us. Judging from the quote “best” meant “most expensive”
So we are going to do it ourselves. Note, when we say “do it ourselves” what we really mean is pick all the bathroom suite, shower, taps, tiles etc and get somebody else to install it for us. Think of it not as DIY but PALM (Pay A Little Man)
Welcome to Operation "Bathroom".
The Plan
Is simple. We will find the type of bath, toilet, sink, shower etc we want. Then we get a local plumber, electrician and plasterer to come round so we can explain to them what we want to do. We will also show them the things we are thinking of buying.
The idea is that they could spot potential problems with either what we want to do or the bits we are buying, or both. They will also be able to talk to us about where any pipe work needs to be re-routed, wiring to hide etc.
Armed with the above we can then order what we need and hopefully avoid potential purchasing mistakes.
